About Me

Hi! I’m Waseh! I love to learn, explore, and perfect niches of life.

What I’ve been up to

  1. 📷 Amateur landscape photographer. I explore my local landscapes around Pennsylvania, NJ, and NY and distant locations whenever I get the chance!
  2. ✍🏽 I write about people, society, and behavior. I’m generally an inquisitive person and realized that the best way to explore these questions would be to write and share my thoughts and research with the world.
  3. 🧑🏾‍💻 I’m a software engineer working in the US. I studied Electrical & Computer Engineering, Economics, and Computer Science throughout my educational life but ended up being drawn to technology and software!

Photography

Photography isn’t something I had thought of exploring before. I could appreciate nature, and would actively go on hikes, and take pictures with my handy-dandy camera phone, only to have those photos live forever on the cloud, never revisited.

Until December 2021, when I actually bought a used intermediate-level mirrorless camera to start creating videos. Instead, what started off as a few photographs while exploring small towns and big cities, led to curiosity about capturing the best photo I could. Soon, I would be exploring the smallest and most cobweb-ridden trails around my local area, looking for original compositions that best captured the scenery around me.

Now, it really isn’t about capturing the best photo all the time. It’s about the process. The weather, the effort to find a composition in the chaos, the early mornings and late evenings. Landscape photography can be a very personal experience but I hope to be able to share it with others who love and appreciate the nuances of nature.

Becoming a landscape photographer has emphasized my desire to help preserve nature. As such, I decided to join Nature First: The Alliance for Responsible Nature Photography. This requires a dedication to the principles embedded in landscape photography fundamentals: Nature comes first.
